Hampstead Horticultural Society

We hold a spring show in March and an autumn show in September. The shows will have classes for flowers, flow arrangements, plants, vegetables, fruit as well as cakes and jams.

There will be two illustrated talks each year given by gardening or horticulture experts. They are held at Burgh House: the first is at the AGM in March and the second at the prizegiving in November.

We also run coach outings to interesting gardens, some of which are not generally open to the public.

Membership of the Society entitles you to participate in the events and receive discounts from local garden centres. Members receive a quarterly newsletter either by post or email which gives full details of the society’s activities.

National Gardens Scheme

Many gardens are opened to the public as part of the National Gardens Scheme. Details are published in the ‘Yellow Book’ which can be purchased in February. Gardens in our local area which open under this scheme are also listed in a small London booklet and in our newsletter.
